Farewell to Summer

img_2941Thank you to a great group of apprentices! Cavell and Kate Blood, Gustavs, Jake and Zack blessed us in so many ways during the last 6 months.  It was a brutally hot summer with higher levels of humidity than we ever remember.  The heat and humidity took it’s toll on some crops while others thrived.  These apprentices worked with their whole hearts through the toughest of jobs on the hottest of days.  Kate and Cavell will be staying on with us through the  winter so you will be seeing more of them. It is rewarding to introduce these young people to an agrarian life and we trust they will take the knowledge gained to their new endeavors.  We wish them Bountiful Blessings!

  1. A true, family farm with 4 generations living and working together.
  2. We farm using Organic practices
  3. Year-round (Summer and Winter CSA’s)
  4. Heavily invested in “weatherproofing”
    • – 8 hoophouses for season extension and rain protection
    • – gravity flow irrigation from spring-fed pond (which has stayed full even in dry years)
    • – fields above the flood plain for spring flood protection
    • – heavily invested in soil building
    • – adding tons of organic matter to our fields yearly.
    • – growing cover crops extensively
  5. Aggressive “re-mineralization” of the soil – adding back what has been depleted through the centuries.
  6. Family members (not hired workers) at every delivery – so we can build relationships
  7. Small (no more than 100 members), for a personal touch
  8. Focused on quality – not quantity
  9. A wide variety of vegetables plus small fruits (strawberries, blueberries, blackberries)
  10. Spring and Fall Open Houses on the farm
  11. 18 years’ farming experience
  12. We do our best and rely on God for the rest!

We’d love for you to join our farm family!

Our Farm

Bountiful Blessings Farm is a small, family farm nestled in the hills of Middle Tennessee. Run by the John Dysinger family on land owned by his parents, the farm specializes in berries and year-round vegetables.

Although we were certified organic for many years, we recently dropped our certification (see “Why not Organic?”). We remain committed to the values and practices of organic farming and want you to know that we only grow the highest quality, chemical free produce for ourselves and our customers.

We market our produce through summer and winter CSA's, the 12th Street Farmer's Market, Nashville Grown food hub, Fresh Harvest Cooperative, and The Produce Place, a hometown grocer. You can also find our veggies on the menus of some of Nashville's finest restaurants.

We consider our customers to be part of our extended family and invite you to join us as we endeavor to build healthier families, communities, and environment.

Mission Statement

• We value a quiet, simple, and sustainable life - surrounded by God, family, and friends.

• We aim to serve others through sharing the "fruits" of this life with them.

• We seek to be faithful stewards of the resources placed in our hands, realizing our accountability to God, our family, our customers, and our community.
